Tanger Factory Outlet Centers Set to Join the S&P MidCap 400; American Equity Investment Life, AngioDynamics to Join the S&P SmallCap 600

NEW YORK, Oct. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- S&P Dow Jones Indices will make the following changes to the S&P MidCap 400 and S&P SmallCap 600 indices:

  • S&P SmallCap 600 constituent Tanger Factory Outlet Centers Inc. (NYSE:SKT) will replace URS Corp. (NYSE:URS) in the S&P MidCap 400, and  American Equity Investment Life Holding Co. (NYSE:AEL) will replace Tanger Factory Outlet Centers  in the S&P SmallCap 600 after the close of trading on Friday, October 17. S&P MidCap 400 constituent AECOM Technology Corp. (NYSE:ACM) is acquiring URS in a deal expected to be completed on or about that date pending final approvals.
  • AngioDynamics Inc. (NASD:ANGO) will replace Annie's Inc. (NYSE:BNNY) in the S&P SmallCap 600 after the close of trading on Monday, October 20. S&P 500 constituent General Mills Inc. (NYSE: GIS) is acquiring Annie's in a deal expected to be completed soon.

Tanger Factory Outlet Centers is a real estate investment trust that develops, acquires and manages outlet shopping centers. Headquartered in Greensboro, NC, the company will be added to the S&P MidCap 400 GICS (Global Industry Classification Standard) Retail REITs Sub-Industry index.

American Equity Investment Life Holding Company underwrites fixed annuities. Headquartered in West Des Moines, IA, the company will be added to the S&P SmallCap 600 GICS Life & Health Insurance Sub-Industry index.

AngioDynamics designs, manufactures, and sells medical, surgical, and diagnostic devices. Headquartered in Latham, NY, the company will be added to the S&P SmallCap 600 GICS Health Care Equipment Sub-Industry index.
