Quality Care Properties Set to Join the S&P MidCap 400; Guess? to Join S&P SmallCap 600

NEW YORK, Oct. 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Quality Care Properties Inc. (NYSE: QCP) will replace Guess? Inc. (NYSE: GES) in the S&P MidCap 400 and Guess? will replace Harte-Hanks Inc. (NYSE:HHS) in the S&P SmallCap 600 after the close of trading on Tuesday, November 1. S&P 500 constituent HCP Inc. (NYSE: HCP) is spinning off Quality Care Properties in a transaction expected to be completed after the close of trading on Monday, October 31. Post spin-off, HCP will remain in the S&P 500. Guess? is ranked near the bottom of the S&P MidCap 400 and has a market capitalization more representative of the small-cap market space. Harte-Hanks is ranked near the bottom of the S&P SmallCap and is no longer representative of the small-cap market space.

S&P 500 constituent Yum! Brands Inc. (NYSE:YUM) is spinning off Yum China Holdings Inc. (NYSE: YUMC) in a transaction expected to be completed after the close of trading on Monday, October 31. Yum China Holdings is considered to be domiciled in China for index purposes, and will therefore be ineligible for inclusion in the S&P 500. Post spin-off, Yum! Brands will remain in the S&P 500.

S&P 500 constituent Alcoa Inc (NYSE: AA) is spinning off "new" Alcoa Corp. (NYSE: AA) in a transaction expected to be completed after the close of trading on Monday, October 31. Following the spin-off, Alcoa will have a name change to Arconic Inc., a symbol change to ARNC, and a Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS) sub industry change to Aerospace & Defense. It will remain in the S&P 500 post spin-off. The spin-off company "new" Alcoa will not be added to the S&P Composite 1500.

S&P 500 constituent Johnson Controls International plc (NYSE: JCI) is spinning off Adient plc (NYSE: ADNT) in a transaction expected to be completed after the close of trading on Friday, Oct 28. Following the spin-off, Johnson Controls International will have a GICS sub-industry change to Building Products. Johnson Controls will remain in the S&P 500 post spin-off. The spin-off company Adient will not be added to the S&P Composite 1500.

Quality Care Properties, a real estate investment trust, invests in properties serving the healthcare industry. Headquartered in Irvine, CA, the company will be added to the S&P MidCap 400 GICS Health Care REITs Sub-Industry index.

Guess? designs, markets, distributes, and licenses lifestyle collections of contemporary apparel and accessories. Headquartered in Los Angeles, CA, the company will be added to the S&P SmallCap 600 GICS Apparel Retail Sub-Industry index.
