NEW YORK, Nov. 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Lamb Weston Holdings Inc. (NYSE: LW) will replace Ascena Retail Group Inc. (NASD:ASNA) in the S&P Midcap 400, and Ascena Retail Group will replace Intrepid Potash Inc. (NYSE:IPI) in the S&P SmallCap 600 after the close of trading on Thursday, November 10. S&P 500 constituent ConAgra Foods Inc. (NYSE:CAG) is spinning off Lamb Weston Holdings in a deal expected to be completed on or about that date pending final approvals. Intrepid Potash is ranked last in the S&P SmallCap 600.
Lamb Weston Holdings produces and markets frozen potatoes. Headquartered in Chicago, IL, the company will be added to the S&P Midcap 400 GICS (Global Industry Classification Standard) Packaged Foods & Meats Sub-Industry index.
Ascena Retail Group operates as a specialty retailer of apparel, shoes and accessories. Headquartered in Mahwah, NJ, the company will be added to the S&P SmallCap 600 GICS Apparel Retail Sub-Industry index.
