NEW YORK, Jan. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Cloud Peak Energy Inc. (NYSE: CLD) will replace Tekelec (NASD: TKLC) in the S&P SmallCap 600 index after the close of trading on Thursday, January 26. Tekelec is being acquired by a consortium led by Siris Capital Group LLC in a deal expected to be completed on or about that date pending final approvals.

Cloud Peak Energy produces coal. Headquartered in Gillette, WY, the company will be added to the S&P SmallCap 600 GICS (Global Industry Classification Standard) Coal & Consumable Fuels Sub-Industry index.
