Press Releases
NEW YORK, Oct. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI), one of the world's leading providers of financial market indices, today announced the appointment of Chuck Mounts as Global Head of Research and Development.
In this role, Mr. Mounts will lead S&P DJI's multi-asset, global research efforts and become a member of the S&P DJI executive leadership team. He will focus primarily on providing S&P DJI's clients with deeper market insights, greater multi-asset class research coverage, and superior, original market intelligence and analysis – with a particular focus on the credit markets where S&P DJI has been active in expanding, most recently with the launch of the S&P 500® Bond Index.
"Our appointment of Chuck as head of R&D will be a huge boost to our global expansion of our fixed income index business given his extensive and broad range of credit markets experience," says Alex Matturri, CEO of S&P Dow Jones Indices. "His knowledge of the overall financial markets, equities and commodities asset classes, and considerable research and development experience, will energetically and vigorously position S&P DJI well as we continue to proactively engage the markets and our clients with independent, third party research."
Mr. Mounts comes to S&P DJI with extensive experience working across a wide range of asset classes at the institutional level. At his previous employer, BIJA Capital Management, Mr. Mounts was responsible for the overall management, business development, marketing, and investor relations for a start-up hedge fund working closely with the CIO in researching macro themes and catalysts in support of trade ideas and structures.
Prior to BIJA, he worked at Knight Capital Group serving as its Managing Director, Head of Research and Global Financials/Sovereign Analyst covering sovereigns and global financials, developing trade ideas and portfolio recommendations in cash and CDS markets.
Mr. Mounts also served two stints at UBS Investment Bank as its global co-head of fixed income, currencies and commodities research, as well as its Head of Yankee Bond Fixed Income Research. Additionally, he worked at Goldman Sachs as its European Banks Credit Analyst, Merrill Lynch as an International Bank and Sovereign Fixed Income Analyst, and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York within the Bank Supervision Department.
He is a Harvard University graduate with a Master of Public Policy degree with a concentration in Finance and International Trade, as well as a graduate of Claremont McKenna College with a BA in International Relations and History.
