NEW YORK, Aug. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- S&P Global announced today it saw record turnout this year in the number of employees who chose to give back to their communities by volunteering during the Company's annual Community Impact Month initiative.

The number of employees who volunteered from May through June spiked 35% to more than 6,000 and the number of projects around the world these employees worked on increased 57% to nearly 300.

S&P Global President and CEO Douglas L. Peterson said employees taking time off from work to help a wide range of nonprofit partners demonstrates the Company's responsibility to create inclusive, sustainable economies and build thriving global communities where employees live and work.

"I am so proud of our people for the incredible work they've done during Community Impact Month. Our employees partnered with more than 100 nonprofit organizations across 22 countries to increase job-readiness skills through mentorship programs for young people, to promote sustainability and preserve the environment and support women entrepreneurs," said Mr. Peterson.
