June 2018 U.S. Rig Counts Up 10% from June 2017 - S&P Global Platts

HOUSTON, July 10, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- S&P Global Platts Analytics today announced the total U.S. rig count for June 2018 was 1,163, down 1 (-0%) from May 2018, and up 108 (+10%) from June 2017. This rig count includes U.S. onshore, U.S. inland waters, and U.S. offshore Gulf of Mexico drilling rigs.

  • June U.S. land rig count: 1,120, up 9 (+1%) from the previous month and up 111 (+11%) from June 2017
  • June U.S. inland waters and Gulf of Mexico rig count: 43, down 10 (-19%) from the previous month and down 3 (-7%) from June 2017
